FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • I offer a 30 minute consultation near my studio in Downtown Dallas or by phone. During this time, we discuss your birth plans, answer any questions or concerns you may have and get to know one another. I believe it is important that you be comfortable with every person who is attending your birth. Some birthing parents choose to have maternity portraits done and we can take that time to get to know one another better as well.

  • Once you have decided that you want to have your birth photographed, please contact me right away. I limit myself to only a handful of births each month. They fill up fast! I want to make sure that your due date is available. When you hire me, the birth coverage fee is due. This makes sure your due date remains open for you. If you aren't sure whether I am booked or not, please contact me. Depending on the situation, we may be able to make it work.

  • A 50% retainer is due at the time of booking to secure services. At 36 weeks, the balance of the session purchase is due. This fee will include the products & services listed in your booking quote.

  • We can’t! Even a scheduled birth can happen unexpectedly. For this reason, we have a window where we are on-call. Typically between 38-42 weeks we will stay in town, attached to a phone and ready to go when you are in active labor. We try to stay in communication with you as best we can!

  • If you are planning a c-section, we will discuss the logistics more in depth. Please check with your OB and hospital to confirm that it is possible. I am happy to speak with anyone who may need more information. I have photographed c-sections at almost every local hospital and know it can be done! I will arrive 1.5 hours prior to your scheduled time to get all the preparation before the birth of your baby and stay thru the birth and afterwards to get all those special moments. I especially love photographing these births. The birthing parent often misses so much during this time. I feel like I am able to bridge that gap and help them connect with their baby and birth experience. It is wonderful!

  • It typically takes around 6-8 weeks to process your entire birth. However, we do blog your social media files within the first few days so you have them to share! Once your images are ready, you will receive a link to your online gallery and be able to view and download your images.

  • Nope! You are not required to sign a model release. If you sign one, you can also choose the images you want to share and the ones you want to keep private. This is 100% your choice!
